A Thanksgiving Feast

I'm back - finally! :-) I have big plans to redesign the site and add some fantastic projects we've accomplished in the past few months. It's all a matter of balancing time - wish me luck!

To get things rolling... here are a few pictures from our Thanksgiving Feast in Borger. We fried a turkey (actually 2) for the first time. We had a little bit of a scare when the propane tanks wouldn't seal correctly with our fryer (notice all the canisters?) But in the end it was fantastic and tasted DELICIOUS! We used this recipe to marinate the turkey: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/emerils-fried-turkey-recipe2/index.html .

Wrapping up January...

January 11-30, 2011

(89) January 11th -  What more is there to say it's 11:11AM on 1/11/11
(90) January 12th - Get your giggle on :-)
(91) January 13th Sleepy Stephen
(92) January 14th - Cake Tasting! We had 6 cakes from 3 different people to test out
(93) January 15th - Since Mom and Dad were in town we headed out to Cheddars. Mom and I had a 'Cheddars Painkiller.' It was delicious and quite needed when the alarm went off and continued for 20 minutes plus
(94) January 16th - Bridal Show!
(95) January 17th - This was my mid-January study break
(96) January 18th - I'm hooked on grapefruit! They are SO delicious!
(97) January 19th - These financial charts gave me a flashback to my grad school finance class. Luckily I had this cute penguin pencil to keep me going!

(98) January 20th - I had to go get fingerprinted for my real estate license. Had to laugh when the lady had tried 7 times to get my left point finger to register better. Crazy that a year ago it was all wrapped up with 5 stitches!
(99) January 21st - 2 weeks of studying has paid off! I'M A LICENSED REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON!!!
(100) January 22nd - Stephen's job is kind of fun... knowing that after all the hard work  you get to see a finished product. Here is the most recent gym his firm finished.
(101) January 23rd - Since Stephen & I will be getting married this year mom packed up all 'my' Christmas things in a tub...
(102) January 24th - Stephen & I went to the Lubbock Christian Schools fundraising event with guest speaker Sarah Palin. It was great!
(103) January 25th - And more snow in Lubbock... Serious cold temperatures too - negatives!
(104) January 26th - I had to laugh when I saw this car with business cards taped to the back with a sign that says free take one
(105) January 27th - I've been busy etching! Stephen's uncle, Jim let me borrow his sand blasting cabinet. IT'S AMAZING!
(106) January 28th - We had to take up the buy one get one offer before it expired!
(107) January 29th - My parents engagement gift to Stephen and I were dishes. We can't wait to start using them!
(108) January 30th - y.u.m.
(109) January 31st - Car Wah?

Officially Licensed!

I'm back and I'm 'officially' licensed as a real estate salesperson as of today!!! The test was extremely hard but I passed both sections - the national and state. (I had to give myself an extra pat on the back when the moderator after I was finished said it was one of the higher scores she had ever seen)

I have SO much catching up to do. But have no fear - new posts coming VERY SOON!

Day to Day

88/365 Daydreaming & Espresso
January 10, 2011
The temperature has finally turned COLD! And I was rather ecstatic to see this on the weather:
And yes... I have finally come to terms that it is highly unlikely to see snow thats not on my screen. But I have better things to keep me busy, like reading and studying Real Estate Agency... exciting, right?!
I'm bound to determine to knock the real estate exam out in one try! Starbucks has definitely made the studying slightly easier. I will be quite sad though when my gift cards run out as I will be back to drinking Folgers... Maybe I should save my Starbucks cups. After all it's a mental thing, right?

87/365 Casualties
January 9, 2011
When you are trying to throw grapes across the kitchen to see who can catch the most in their mouth... there is always bound to be a few casualties. :-)

86/365 Wedding!
January 8, 2011
So after a day full of studying I stayed up a little too late with excitement of creating our wedding website. It's still a work in progress but you should go check it out now. More details to come soon!

New Year New Posts

85/365 Spys
January 7, 2011
Me: 'Stephen what are you doing?'

Stephen: 'Shhh... I'm reliving my spy days'

haha :-)

84/365 Study Buddy
January 6, 2011
When I saw this, I couldn't help but take a slight break in studying...

83/365 A slight step backwards...
January 5, 2011
Other than cooking fresh dinners every night this week, I only had one slight chocolate craving this week. Everyone needs a little chocolate... and I just need a little more than the normal person!
I love the quote 'I'd give up chocolate... but I'm not a quitter."

82/365 2011 Workouts
January 4, 2011
As I've been reminded lately, I need small goals to reach up to my big goals listed below. So in the next few days will be a few of my small goals :-)

I started working out this week and feel about 1,000 times better; I'm ready to get back in full swing! I am aiming to start swimming next week a few days after work which will be a nice change to the routine.

81/365 The list goes on forever
January 3, 2011
Well to-do lists are the story of my life now. So much to do in such little time. I love staying busy... just have to have something to keep on track!
